Car Guys @ Shenandoah

I spent my Memorial day weekend at the Shenandoah with Car Guys and had a blast. I took the 2002 on Saturday.  I made some adjustments to the rear sway bar so the rear tires wouldn't come off the ground at the apex.  Kind of made accelerating out of the turn hard.  The old beauty handled great and performed well.  The only trouble I had was the battery box came loose and the positive cable was pulled out of the post connection.  That was an easy enough fix, but unfortunately the session was black flagged.

On Sunday I took my E-46 M3.  It's bone stock and still made an impressive showing.  Man!  This car handles amazingly well for it's size.  This car never ceases to amaze me.  On a track that busy, I was truly impressed.

I had two students; a Novice and an Intermediate.  Both were great.  My Novice student, Don, was never on track before, but you would have never guessed that.  He picked up things quickly and by the end of the weekend was zipping around the track. He picked a challenging track to begin with too!  He had an E-36 M3 and the car performed flawlessly.  He picked it up for $3000!  What a bargain!  He got to see first had how amazing these cars really are.  He left that weekend with a big smile and so did I.  I was really impressed with his talent.  I'm sure he's got the bug and I will be seeing him again soon!

My intermediate student, Hendricks, had a 2001 Honda S2000.  He knew the car really well and had good driving skills.  I worked with smoothness and consistency with him.  He did so well I soloed him two out of the 4 sessions on Sunday.  I rode with him the first and last sessions and he did the 2 seesions mid-day oin his own.  He did really well.  I want to thank him for staying on the black stuff.   That was the first time I was in one of the cars.  This was an impressive car.  Red line @ 9,ooo rpms!  It was a wonderful sound to hear!

Aryan and his crew did a great job.  There were no incidents.  It was a safe and fun weekend.

My next school is with Mazda Drivers @ VIR.  Until then Happy motoring!
